I had the pleasure of planning and decorating for a boy’s First Birthday ! It was so much fun!
I started by deciding on a theme which was “Little Man” and I purchased the party items from Party City. Tablecloths, paper plates, paper cups, napkins, banner, high chair banner, crown, bib, signs.

Cake Smash Outfit
- I purchased this outfit from Party City for when he smashed his cake and for the photo opportunities. Such an adorable little set.
Little Man First Birthday Outfit
I made the diaper shirt with my Cricut with iron on vinyl. I used a black glitter HTV for the moustache and a light blue HTV for the wording. It came out so cute! This idea and design was made by me in my Cricut Design Space software.
I purchased the shorts and suspenders from Carters Osh Kosh and we had the birthday boy wear this outfit for his photos!
Little Man Smash Cake
I made his smash cake myself with vanilla cake and blue frosting. Here is my blog post where I show you how I make my cake and frosting !
Little Man First Birthday Cake
I hired a lady to make his big main cake from her home bakery. I scoured Pinterest for ideas and sent her a photo of how I wanted the cake to look. She did a great job!
Little Man First Birthday Decorations
On the main dessert table I went for simple decorations. I cut out moustaches on my Cricut machine and hot glued them to the paper cups. I also found a free Google Welcome sign and personalized it in Pic Monkey and printed it out on cardstock and slid it into a frame for the table. The First Birthday stand up sign I found at Party City along with the plastic tablecloths, candy bowl and candies.

Little Man Birthday Sign
This was a super easy project, I just went to Google and found a free sign and printed it off on my home printer and put it in this frame I found at IKEA.
First Birthday High Chair Banner
I bought all of the high chair banner, the crown and the bib at Party City! His chair is all set for him to smash his little cake !
First Birthday Balloon Bouquet
The balloon bouquet was so easy! I went to the dollar tree and purchased helium-filled balloons and had them tie them up with a weight for the bottom and they turned out so cute! Such an expensive idea for helium balloons that can get expensive !
First Birthday Milestone Board
I purchased the milestone board off of a seller on ETSY! These are so easy to purchase. The seller sends a link for you to go to a website and fill in the details yourself. Then I send the link to the printers to have them print it off for me! In order to save money, I don’t have the printers put it on a cardboard backer as that is very expensive. I have them print it off for me and I have it put on cardboard backer that I get from the dollar tree.
I hope I was able to inspire your next Little Man First Birthday Party! Planning is always a labor of love for me! Please post your pictures, I would love to see!
